About us
Rays Awareness is a nonprofit organization founded by Sabrina Manero, inspired by her mother's harrowing experiences with skin cancer. Sabrina's journey towards creating this organization began during her volunteer service at a hospital, where she witnessed firsthand the efficiency and accessibility of healthcare for individuals in her neighborhood. However, it was a transformative encounter with an individual experiencing homelessness that impacted her perspective.
"One day, during my service at the front desk of a hospital, I encountered a woman, who relayed to me that she needed transportation to a nearby grocery store. In order to obtain such, I needed to confirm with her health insurance that she had actually been discharged. In the time that followed, where she remained awaiting pick-up for hours, I began to recognize the stark disparity in healthcare access faced by marginalized populations. Witnessing the challenges this woman faced inspired me to take action, because everyone deserves access to the best possible care, regardless of their situation."

Driven by this eye-opening experience, Sabrina dedicated herself to founding Rays Awareness. She recognized that skin cancer is a disease where early detection and prevention can make a significant difference in outcomes. Consequently, It became her mission to ensure that everyone, regardless of their socioeconomic status, would have access to the information, resources, and care they need to protect themselves from this disease.
Our Mission
Our organization envisions a future wherein healthcare access transcends socioeconomic barriers. We are committed to championing health equity by disseminating information on skin cancer and equipping marginalized populations with preventive skin care measures. By spreading knowledge about the risks associated with skin cancer, we aim to empower individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds with the information they need to protect themselves. Additionally, recognizing that preventive measures can be cost-prohibitive for many, Rays Awareness seeks to bridge this gap by supplying necessary items, like sunscreen and hats, to ensure that everyone has the means to safeguard their skin against harmful UV radiation. By doing so, this company strives to create a lasting impact and foster a brighter, healthier future for all. Together, we can emit rays of hope, compassion, and improved healthcare inclusivity, illuminating lives with our progressive strides.
How We Help
Skin Cancer Education
We disseminate vital information about skin cancer risks, prevention, and early detection. By providing accurate and accessible information, Rays Awareness helps individuals make informed decisions about their skin health.
Product Distribution
We provide free resources to underprivileged communities to help them protect their skin from harmful UV radiation. By bridging the gap in access to these preventive measures, we empower marginalized populations to prioritize their skin health.
Healthcare Advocacy
We raise awareness about the disproportionate barriers faced by some populations in accessing healthcare. Additionally, we offer support to those navigating the healthcare system, promoting practices with equitable healthcare access for all.
